In the 1970s, Havel wrote a play called "Mountain Hotel." The characters in the play all long for different things without any hope of ever being able to attain them. This is an original song, offered as an alternative to the appropriated song heard occasionally throughout the play: "Somewhere My Love," the Theme from "Dr. Zhivago."

Someone Somewhat Like You

(Theme for "Mountain Hotel")

Someday, somehow, something, somewhere --

I hope will come through.

Some way, some night, someplace, sometime --

no more feeling blue.

Something kind of romantic

could be just about to come true.

Something unexpected is bound to happen,

and when it does I hope you'll know what to do.

Someday, some way, somewhere, sometime

with someone somewhat like you.
